Gorgeous Vintage Rosewood
This lovely pair of rosewood bones came from an antique dealer in South Portland Maine, who
got them from a dealer in Boston. She
seems to know something about rosewood - and thinks this pair is made from Danish rosewood.
Hi Scott...I found them from a dealer in Boston. I have had many sets made of ebony but never any made of rosewood. They are beautiful rosewood so I think they were made from the earliest which came from Denmark. They don't look like the Brazilian or Thailand rosewood which was made later (as far as the furniture when all the rosewood from Denmark was gone). I have many pieces of the earliest rosewood so I am familiar with the wood. Other than that I have no other information.
What ever species they are, these handcrafted
beauties produce a sharp clear tone typical of rosewood.
